First, there are multiple names for the same few techniques. We will talk about the three main types you should know; microblading only, combination brows, and powder brows.

Microblading

Microblading only is the most natural of the three styles. This look is characterized by hair strokes added into the brow shape to create a natural light wispy look, This is best suited for clients who don't usually wear makeup on the brows and want a very light and natural look.

Combination brows

Combination (or combo) brows are by far the most popular of the choices. This is a combo of microblading and microshading. Shading colors in and darkens the skin between the hair strokes to add more color and depth to the brow. This is perfect for those of us with patchy or little natural hair growth as the shading balances the color.

Powder Brows

Powder brows are defined by soft shading only without any microbladed hairstrokes. This style of eyebrow tattoo is best for oilier skins. This look can be soft and subtle or dark and bold, depending on what suits the client. This technique is also a good choice for clients that have had previous cosmetic tattooing or microblading.

Still not sure which is right for you? No problem! I always do a full consultation with my clients during our session to determine what is going to work best. Feel free to bring in pictures of styles you like or how you wear them daily to get the conversation started.
